For example, when we worked with a major university medical center, our interview process uncovered major systemic inefficiencies in bed flow. The discharge process had a 12-hour lag time, leaving beds open for long stretches which cost revenue and slowed patient care.

For a 150-bed hospital, our interview process found a significant bottleneck in their billing department. They were doing the work but leaving money on the table since only one person was doing UR. In a multi-hospital system, our process identified opportunities to standardize operations and achieve significant economies of scale.
